This is a showcase of my personal favourites from the past 2 years.
These works are my own large scale photographs that I've enhanced and edited with acrylic paint, blurring the lines between photography and painting. Using thin washes of paint, etching into the emulsion of the photo and painted areas of thick impasto, the images are tactile and painterly while also being photographic sharp.
My work is featured internationally in galleries, art fairs and magazines, and is part of many private and public collections including Air Canada, the House of Armani, and the Canadian Embassy in Iceland.

Thanks for visiting. Let me tell you a bit about my work. My work focuses on the changeable relationship we have with nature. Loving and destroying in the same breath. The darkness of the human psyche underlies many of my overtly positive and uplifting nature scenes. Oceans and forests are idealized, radiating an inner light that burns. This heightened effect corresponds to our own yearning for more, wanting to be at one with nature, to control it, to be moved by it, to tame it. This quote by philosopher Alan W. Watts captures my thinking:You didn't come into this world. You came out of it, like a wave from the ocean. You are not a stranger here.' These mixed media paintings blur the lines of photography and painting, realism and experience.
