The great and mighty Oz - eyes move side to side and blinks.
Construction: cardboard and wood supportsfor head. Eyes are painted plastic domes with aluminum linkages to control movement.

Concept: Create a 30 foot Dragon that can be pupetted by Grade 12 students.
Include blinking eyes and hinged jaw
Construction: cardboard, bamboo framing, foam ribs, plastic skin and eyes

THE LADY IN THE VAN
Set Design
Concept: A Paper House - The play takes place at the home of a writer who is undergoing renovations. I designed the set to be a mix of black and white illustrations and architectural drawings. Parts of the set are made up entirely of 8.5 x 11" sheets of paper, creating a "writer's paper house".

Dementor Costumes and Set Build
Task 1: Create 8 dementors that students can wear and operate by themselves. I made them large and floating with custom harnesses and a tall pole that suspends the head up high while the student can operate the hands and arms.
Task 2: Using a supplied PUFFS set design, I adapted and built the wooden stage structures
Note: Students assisted in the painting of the wood structures.

The life size figure is a mix of plaster cast elements (hands and face) and carved plaster.
The bust is made of paper, made from a plaster mold. Cast was made from a person.
